Original writing. This literally came straight out of my head onto the page.
Carn looked up from sharpening his sword among his comrades. It was his fourth day on the battlefield at Brideon and so far nothing had happened. Carn was impatient. He had checked his weapons countless times, surveyed the battlefield twice, and oiled his chain mail. He could even see the enemy troops in their camp across the grassy plain of no man’s land.
