Bookmasters: The Perfect Recipe for Publishing Success

Originally posted on Bookmasters Blog

Once you dive into our Publishing 101 Guide, you will learn that self-publishing can be tedious but rewarding. Below are just a few self-publishing advantages:

Control: As the author, you have full control when making decisions about your book’s design and content.

Rights: You retain all the rights to your work, including foreign-language rights, e-book rights, movie rights, television rights etc.

Income: You will earn higher royalties per book – 30-70% of the retail price compared to 5-25% for traditionally published authors who will also have to pay an agent 10-20% commission.

No backlist: a publisher can backlist an author’s title if sales are inadequate, which means the author’s book is no longer available for purchase. The life span of your self-published book is indefinite.

Outsourcing: Even though you self-publish, it doesn’t mean you’re on your own. Bookmasters offers a range of services for self-published authors on any budget.

POD: self-published authors no longer have to order large quantities of their book and find a place to store them. Print-on-demand technology means a book will be produced whenever someone buys it, and the quality of the end product is equal to that of a publishing house.

Bookmasters helps many self-published authors reach their publishing goals each year and we regularly expand our services to better fit self-publishers’ needs. We can print digital and/or offset in quantities ranging from one to 100,000 copies. We have some of the best quality digital printers in the world offering one to four-color printing options that are matched up with our state-of-the-art bindery equipment, allowing the self-published author to choose between perfect, hard-cover, wire-o, plastic-comb and -coil, case, and saddle-stitch bound books.
