  1. It’s good to see you give this self published titles some exposure. I believe both of our blogs are trying to help authors navigate the world of self publishing. Authors ask me nearly everyday about awards like USA Best Book Awards and I break down what winning at this award show represents. The reality of winning is that it means nothing outside of making the author feel better. There might be a few more sales or if they live in a small town, their local newspaper may cover them, but it’s not going to propel them to new heights.

    • Thanks for dropping by Kevin! 🙂
That’s good to know that we both have blogs that are trying to help the self-publishing industry. About the awards, if I would be given any of the awards, no matter how small it is, I would really be happy and honored to receive it.

It might not make all the authors who won the awards feel better but I’m hoping a considerable number would feel good about it. I agree with what you said that it might not get the authors to new heights but nonetheless it does still increases their sales a little bit more. 🙂

  2. I agree, they can be a good thing. Just like any other coverage an author gets, I try explaining what it means and give the author as much of a perspective on it as possible.

Great blog! If you get a chance, I step out of the self-publishing a little bit and venture into the traditional world. Love to hear your thoughts http://www.businesssideofbooks.com

    • Thanks! Maybe one of these days I’ll consider providing information about the traditional way of publishing a book.

Great blog you got there too Kevin! I browse through it and it seems it contains valuable information that are helpful to anyone under the book publishing umbrella.

      Cheers mate! 🙂
